This notice describes how the privacy of users who use the NaviFlow app (hereinafter, the “App”) is handled.

1. Data Controller

The Data Controller is Emiliano Mazziotta, with registered office at Via della Stazione Aurelia, 91, 00165 Rome, Italy, email: privacy@naviflow.it.

2. Data processed

In general, the App does not require the creation of an account, does not collect data for advertising purposes, does not carry out profiling, and does not use marketing tracking systems.

However, the App may use technical services necessary for its operation. In particular:

2.1 Apple Maps / MapKit

The App uses mapping features based on Apple Maps / MapKit to display maps or geographic information useful to the user. Any processing of technical data necessary for providing the map service takes place within the scope of the Apple services used by the App and in accordance with the terms and privacy notices made available by Apple.

For more information, the user may consult the documentation and privacy policy of the relevant provider.

2.2 In-app subscriptions

The App may offer in-app subscriptions for access to additional features. In this case, payment is handled through the purchase systems made available by the relevant store (Google Play for Android; Apple App Store for iOS).

The Data Controller does not directly process the user’s full payment card details, which are handled by the store’s payment provider. However, in order to activate premium features, verify subscription status, and provide support, the Data Controller may process technical data related to the purchase and subscription, such as:

  • product or subscribed plan identifier;
  • technical transaction or purchase identifiers;
  • subscription status (active, renewed, expired, cancelled, refunded);
  • activation, renewal, or expiration date of the service;
  • any information strictly necessary for administrative management or support.

2.3 Data voluntarily provided by the user

The App does not require, unless otherwise indicated, the provision of identifying personal data. Any communications sent voluntarily by the user to the contact details indicated on the website or in the App will involve the processing of the data contained in the communication solely for the purpose of responding to the request.

3. Purpose and legal basis of processing

Any data that may be processed is used exclusively to:

  • enable the technical operation of the App and the display of maps;
  • activate and manage premium features linked to in-app subscriptions;
  • verify subscription status, including renewals, expirations, cancellations, and refunds, where technically managed;
  • ensure security, stability, and technical maintenance;
  • respond to any requests sent by the user.

The legal basis for processing is:

  • the performance of pre-contractual or contractual measures requested by the user, where applicable;
  • the legitimate interest of the Data Controller in ensuring the proper functioning, security, and maintenance of the App;
  • compliance with any legal obligations, where applicable.

4. Nature of the provision of data

The use of mapping features may involve the processing of technical data strictly necessary for their provision. In the absence of such technical processing, some App features may not be available or may not function properly.

5. Methods of processing

The data is processed using electronic tools and appropriate security measures, in compliance with the principles of lawfulness, fairness, transparency, minimization, and integrity.

6. Recipients of the data

The data may be processed by technical service providers strictly necessary for the operation of the App. In particular:

  • the mapping component may involve processing by Apple as the provider of the map service, in accordance with its respective terms and privacy notices;
  • in-app purchases and subscriptions may involve the processing of technical data by Apple, App Store, and the related billing and purchase management services, in accordance with their respective terms and privacy notices.

7. Transfer of data to third countries

The use of technical services provided by international entities may involve transfers of data to third countries. Such processing takes place in accordance with the contractual terms and protective measures provided by the service provider and the applicable law.

8. Data retention period

The Data Controller does not retain users’ personal data through the App, except where necessary to handle contact requests or comply with legal obligations. Any data processed by third-party providers is subject to the respective retention periods established by those providers.

9. Rights of the data subject

In the cases provided for by applicable law, the user may exercise the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability, as well as lodge a complaint with the competent Supervisory Authority.

Requests may be sent to: privacy@naviflow.it.
